- 1 3/4 yards of Chiffon (min width of 40”)
- 6 coordinating decorative buttons
Step 1: Cut the Chiffon into two pieces. Each pieces needs to be 62” wide X 20” tall. (TIP: Depending on which way you wear the wrap you may want to adjust the cuts. Please read all directions before cutting fabric)
Fold the raw edges over about 1/4 of an inch and sew the raw edges so that they don’t fray.
Step 2: Lay both pieces of Chiffon down on top of each other, wrong sides together.
Step 3: Measure and mark with a pin or clover clip at the following spots (in from each long end) 14 1/2 inches, 18 1/2 inches and 22 1/2 inches.
Step 4: Using needle and thread, stitch the two layers together at each of the points that you just marked and sew a button onto it at each of those points as well. (14 1/2 inches, 18 1/2 inches and 22 1/2 inches in from the left edge, and 14 1/2 inches, 18 1/2 inches and 22 1/2 inches in from the right edge)
After you have sewn on all 6 buttons, you are done! Your Beach Wrap is ready to be worn!
Wearing your beach wrap. You can wear your beach wrap two ways.
The first way is to wear it with the buttons going along your shoulders/top of your arms. When doing so..the part of the fabric that is 20” tall becomes the part that covers your body, and the 62” length becomes the sleeves. (TIP: If you wish to make your wrap longer, then cut the fabric at 24” or at which ever length you desire)
The second way is to wear it with the buttons going down your front and down your back. When doing so..the part of the fabric that is 20” tall becomes the sleeves, and the 62” length becomes the part that covers your body.
And there you have it! Super fast and easy to make, cute and fun to wear!
