About Us

Hi I’m Kat, owner of Calico Cali Designs.

In April of 2010 I flew out to TN and to learn how to digitize embroidery designs. I learned from master digitizer Walter Floriani himself. The experience was amazing..and the lessons I learned in TN will always stay with me. My digitizing technique is based on everything that I learned from Walter.

When I returned home to WI, I created Calico Cali Designs. My intent was to digitize logos for clients, and stitch them out onto polo shirts, sweat shirts and other garments. It soon became clear to me that as much as I loved to stitch out the designs, I enjoyed creating them even more.  Every time I sat down at my computer to digitize I was having soo much fun.  I found myself getting up in the middle of the night to tweak designs. It was then that I decided I should digitize embroidery designs full time and sell my embroidery designs rather spend all my time creating logos.

We have since moved to OR, and while I still do the occasional custom digitizing, most of my time is now spent creating designs that everyone can purchase and stitch out. All of my designs are test stitched out on a home based machine just like you have, so you can be sure that the design you purchase is of the highest quality.

We also offer longarm quilting services. All quilting is done by me on my 26″ Gammill Statler Stitcher. For more information on our longarm quilting please click here.

A lot of people ask me if Cali is my sister or my mom. Nope. She’s my dog. She’s a deaf boxer.  She loves to be outside, surrounded by nature, running, walking, playing and digging holes. Cali is quite inquisitive. She doesn’t let being deaf slow her down. She’s always happy, full of love and wagging her tail. It’s for these reasons that I’ve named my business after her.
